They finally lifted the lockout. My roommate said the first game will be played on Christmas day, awesome. It's about time they settled this.

The NBA just cancelled games to December 15 so that pretty much sucks.

When my friend told me that Allen Iverson was trying to make a come back into the NBA I thought he'd get picked up immediately. But nobody signed Iverson which surprised me since he was AWESOME in the 2000s to like 2005. I guess that thing where he bitched about practice really gave him a bad rep.

A friend of mine is a pretty big Laker fan since he moved here from Cali (figures). He likes to talk trash cause his team won like 5 championships since 2000. Really though its more like 4 championships. The 2002 championship totally doesn't count cause the ref's totally screwed the Kings over in the Western Conference finals. Seriously, who calls a foul on the guy that got his face elbowed?

So they say they might have a deal done by Friday. I'm crossing my fingers hoping that's true. So a lot of my friends are talking about the 2012 free agents and junk. Notably Dwight Howard and CP3 are coming off their contracts and are gonna be free agents. I personally hope Howard stays with Orlando. I enjoyed watching Orlando back when I was in jr. high when Shaq, Horace, and Penny ran the show.

I always hear the commentators talk about "superstar calls", where because they are "superstars", the refs watch the player more closely and always give them favorable calls. Its always irked me how some players are given these treatments while others are ignored. Its really dumb how a player like Dwight Howard gets slapped around the paint while others get a foul for simply breathing on the opposing player. Dumb.

NBA and players union are still negotiating CBA, first 2 weeks of the season cancelled. Nothing new.

When I was younger, I always thought perimeter star players were really cool, like Jordan, Hardaway, Miller, etc. Now that I'm older, I've started to really appreciate the post game. Most of the time, it won't be as exciting as a highlight reel dunk or something but watching an elite low post scorer dismantle a defense  and score almost at will has its own sort of awesomeness.

I'll be posting about basketball on my blog. I've been a basketball fan since I was 9 and it's been my favorite sport since then. At the moment, the NBA owners and players are in a negotiation to settle their collective bargaining agreement (CBA) to settle how revenue and income will be distributed. If they do not settle on an agreement soon, the regular season might be in jeopardy in missing games. Hopefully a deal is settled on soon so I won't only have football to watch this fall semester.
